We are working in partnership with digital media architects Aetopia to create a new platform that puts artists in touch with publishers. The project is currently in Proof of Concept development so we are very grateful for any feedback and support.
Printed papers have thrived on the loyalty of their readers, earned in part by the quality of the illustrations, cartoons, puzzles and images in the papers. The funny pages have always been potent audience development tools for the press. However, in the seismic shift from print to online, little has been done to develop an equivalent vehicle for audiences. This is where Funny Pages will fit in – a dynamic online publishing platform that promotes current and engaging media content, and feeds it directly to the publishers in filtered, custom feeds.
Introducing The iSnort – digital cocaine. MediaZoo’s first venture into smartphone apps has so far been phenomenally popular. With nearly three million views of the App Demo on Youtube, and thousands of sales of the app, the case is proven for edgy humour in digital media. And the iSnort isn’t even available in the App Store yet…
But there’s another side to the naughtiness. The iSnort is not just a cheeky party piece, it’s a delivery vehicle for some ingenious harm-reduction content from our friends at Lifeline, the Manchester-based drugs charity.
The iSnort app exemplifies the spirit of MediaZoo and the 15 Second Film Festival: honest messages, delivered in engaging ways, directly to the people who need them.
Our beloved sister organisation makes her home here at MediaZoo Studios. The 15 Second Film Festival is a touring jamboree of micro-short films that has seen over 100 miniature masterpieces come to life so far, from artists around the world. 15 Second Films have emerged from both famous names and unknown bedsit boffins. The format is simple – 15 seconds – but the content is unbounded.
The festival tours in a fleet of bizarre and sumptuous attractions, including the world’s smallest cinema, and the only inflatable cinema in the British Isles. Cinema will never be the same again.
Studio founder, Peter ‘Magic’ Johnston, somehow finds time to work on his PhD in film, conducting a study into the overlooked art of opening title sequences in film. This work will culminate in a feature production on the subject, combining beauty and analysis with insights from the stars of the title sequence world.
