In partnership with our good friends at Filmbase (Dublin), the studio is running a five-day Masterclass in Adobe After Effects. Jerry Leer, one of the UK’s most respected trainers, will raise your skill level to a high standard, and prepare you for an official Adobe certification exam to become an ACE (Adobe Certified Expert). The course also has an exclusive hands-on green screen / chroma key training module, run from the professional film studio at MediaZoo.

Applicants may be eligible for a 75% bursary from Northern Ireland Screen, taking the course fee down to £337.50 – a bargain for five intensive days with a Master Trainer. Price includes textbook, course notes, and official Adobe ACE exam (taken at a later date). Full course fee (without bursary): £1,350.

The studio is currently designing the components for a practical series of workshops for professionals working in the media industries who want to extend their experience across a comprehensive range of filmmaking skills; from script development, through camerawork, to online distribution. You may also be eligible for up to a 75% bursary.

Course Structure

We are currently in consultation over the precise components of the course, which will depend on the needs of those working in the industry who are interested in taking part. So we would love to hear from potential trainers and trainees. However, the following modules are likely to be on offer, subject to demand:

• Script & Screenplay Development – the artistry of storytelling for screen, from a world-class Hollywood script fluffer.
• Online Distribution – covering the big distribution platforms as well as the new challenge of self-publishing through social media and content sharing.
• Camerawork – hands-on training on the most popular kit in the industry, including RED, Sony and Canon HD D-SLR.
• Lighting – practical session on multiple lighting set-ups, including lighting for green screen.
• Steadicam on a Segway – Going further than standard steadicam training to introduce the new capacity offered by combining steadicam work with the speed and versatility of a Segway.

Through experienced and qualified external providers, MediaZoo can host courses across a wide range of media subjects. We just need to know what you want to learn.
